Recipe: Pear Rosemary and Cranberry Festive Cocktail

Festive Cocktail Recipe

This year, I wanted to make a signature cocktail to serve at some of my holiday gatherings. Since I love rosemary infused drinks, I knew the herb had to play a part in my concoction.

I decided to add pear and cranberry flavours to tie the colours and tastes into the Holiday season and the result was a super pretty drink that was light and refreshing.

It can easily be made non-alcoholic by leaving out the vodka and using sparkling water. I love that it is an option for guests who aren't drinking too because everyone should get to hold a pretty little cocktail on a special occasion.

Pear Rosemary and Cranberry Cocktail

Ingredients (per drink)

0.5 oz vodka
1 tbsp homemade rosemary-cranberry simple syrup
2 oz pear nectar
sparkling wine or sparkling water to top
garnish with a sprig of rosemary, slice of pear and some candied cranberries
note: I used less vodka because my glasses were shallow, but if you are using a larger glass you can go with a full ounce

to make the syrup:
  1. Add equal parts sugar and water to a saucepan and bring to a boil
  2. Once it boils, lower the heat to a simmer
  3. Add a few sprigs of rosemary and some fresh cranberries to the pot
  4. Once the cranberries soften a little (a few minutes) remove them and roll them in some dry sugar. I used raw brown sugar but white sugar would give this a pretty frosted look. Set them aside to dry and remove the syrup from the heat
  5. To a pretty glass, add the simple syrup (once it has cooled), vodka and pear nectar and give it a good stir. Alternatively you can add these ingredients to a cocktail shaker
  6. Add your garnishes and top up the drink with a little fizz

Hope you enjoy making this cocktail over the festive season and cheers to a bright new year ahead!
